Did you know that although spirituality is personal, because everyone experiences and defines it in their own way, it is still social in nature. For most people, spirituality is synonymous with the search for meaning and a path of life.
There are various reasons for starting a spiritual journey. For some, it comes with age, while others turn to spirituality early in life.
Some of the Main Reasons Include:
- Searching for answers to questions such as what is the purpose of life, where do we come from, where do we go after death etc.
- Spiritual healing through channelling that has been practiced for thousands of years.
- Personal development and growth that leads to becoming a better person.
- Problems in life that seem insurmountable.
- Spiritual growth that develops from the inner need for spiritual growth.
The Importance of Spirituality
One of the basic principles of spirituality is that there are as many paths to God as there are people. The spiritual practice adapted to the individual needs and character of a person leads to faster spiritual growth.
Our need to feel happiness in life drives all our worldly aspirations. One of the main reasons why we feel unhappy is the problems we face. Some of those problems have a spiritual cause. Studies show that of all the difficulties that people have in life, 20% have a physical and psychological cause, 30% a spiritual and psychological and/or physical cause, and 50% only a spiritual cause.
Major spiritual issues include destiny (karma), issues raised by deceased ancestors, and disturbances produced by negative energies. Problems in life that have a spiritual cause can only be solved with a spiritual solution.

Things to Consider
Even if you do not consider yourself a spiritual person, there are things that can bring you closer to your higher self and the Divine:

- Be aware of yourself, your breath and your surroundings

- Observe your emotions
- Open your heart
- Find peace within yourself
- Do not judge
- Be empathic
- Be open to learn
- Be grateful
